About tardive dyskinesia

Tardive dyskinesia is a side effect of neuroleptic drugs which are often prescribed for the management of certain mental, neurological, or gastrointestinal disorders [1]. It causes stiff, jerky movements of the face and body that can't be controlled [2].

It may affect individuals who have been taking neuroleptic drugs for a long period of time, which makes schizophrenic people who have spent long periods of time taking these drugs at a high risk of developing this disease. Not all people that have been treated with neuroleptic drugs develop tardive dyskinesia and the reasons that determine the onset of the disease in some people rather than others are unknown [1].

The above products may be suitable for treating patients with tardive dyskinesia. We recommend that you discuss with your doctor what treatment is suitable for you. For further information please contact our support team at support@thesocialmedwork.com.
