The Sourcing Manager Medicines at TheSocialMedwork will be responsible for acquiring medicines for our patients via our wholesale partners, negotiating the best possible price whilst maintaining our ongoing relationship. Collaborating with potential partners around the world, he/she will continue to develop and improve our medicines supply chain and strategy, which will include researching and acquiring new wholesalers to add to our existing portfolio.

The Sourcing Manager Medicines will be responsible for the complete supply chain from sourcing, (import) regulations and logistics followed by successful delivery to our patients worldwide. He/she will also have a great influence in choosing the ideal software to automate the procedures and processing orders together with our Tech team.

Together with the Logistics Manager the candidate ensures that each medicine is delivered to each customer quickly and according to existing import regulations.

This role will require occasional travel (20 % and is a full time role (40 hrs/week).


  • Develop and lead our sourcing strategy alongside our logistics team
  • Work closely with our Logistics, Product Portfolio and Customer Support team
  • Handle negotiations with our current and potential wholesalers, seeking the best prices for patients and agreements with with suppliers
  • Ensure a secure and quick supply chain
  • Maintain our current relationships with wholesale partners.

Competencies and Education / Experience

  • At least three to five years experience in sourcing and negotiating products
  • Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Medicine, Pharmaceutics or a comparable field
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent negotiation and networking skills
  • Fluent in English, verbal and writing
  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational and communicational skills
  • Familiar working with KPIs
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Possessing a seventh sales sense for business opportunities
  • Work Permit for the Netherlands
  • Live or willing to live in Amsterdam.
